Front Burner: With Arrival of Avocado Bar, Brooklyn Has It All

This innovative bar is the place for avocado everything: smoothies, salads and, yes, toast. Francesco Brachetti, a native of Florence, Italy, fell for avocados while living in Mexico. “They’re tasty and healthy, and I ate them every day,” he said. “We didn’t have them in Italy.” He convinced a cousin, the chef Alberto Gramini, also from Florence, and a friend, Alessandro Biggi, from Modena, to go into the avocado business with him. Their avocado bar, decorated with Moroccan tiles, serves other specialties like tuna and avocado ceviche, all to go.
