Costumes aside, Halloween offered philanthropic causes a festive way to raise money and awareness. Bette Midler brought back her “Hocus Pocus” character to life for her annual Hulaween Bash on Oct. 28, which benefits the New York Restoration Project. MoMA P.S. 1 and Susanne Bartsch (center, in red cape) held its fifth annual Halloween party on Oct. 29. And the Harlem School of the Arts held a masquerade ball on Oct. 31 at the Plaza Hotel.
